Education Board

The Board develops strategy and policy on matters related to physics education. It also has a monitoring and advisory role on the specific programme of Institute activities in the education area.

The Education Board is delegated the following responsibilities and powers by the Council of the Institute to:

1. Develop education strategy – working with other boards of Council as appropriate - and the recommendation of strategy within the available resources to Council for their consideration and agreement.
2. Develop policy in areas directly relevant to education – working with other boards of Council as appropriate - and the recommendation of policy to Council for their consideration and agreement.
3. Advise on the programme of education activities to achieve the goals and strategy agreed by Council, working with other boards of Council as appropriate.
4. Report to Council on the progress of the education programme in delivering the strategy.
5. Provide expert input and analysis to inform external responses to consultations and inquiries, and advise on the approval of content prior to submission.
6. Consider issues of diversity and inclusion, particularly in terms of participation in physics education.
7. Any other specific delegated powers agreed by Council.
